‘Cumberland County Fair’ – New Sunday market calling stallholders // //

Launching on Sunday 5th June, Cumberland County Fair will be held every Sunday at Parramatta Stadium.

CUMBERLAND_Categoriesv2We all love to see new opportunities arise for trading and selling our wares. An opportunity to expand or have a fresh market or try selling a new product, but markets cant start themselves, you cant sit back and wait until they are established before you jump in there because as we now know unless each element is there, the stallholder, the layout, the entertainment, and the buying public, it will fail and you will never get to try it.

It takes some weeks, months or even years for a market to grow . Look at Glebe markets on the Saturdays, I started there some 18 years ago and there was a handful of stalls in comparison to the Sunday market which was huge. Now it has 100’s of stalls and is one of the most successful Saturday markets in Sydney.

As a co-ordinator of markets I like to honor those that help to get the markets off the ground and who bring positive energy and contributions to a new event. Some markets take off with a bang and others are slow movers. Soundwave markets was a handful of vendors in the first years and now it can be a struggle to get into it with those first vendors who attended holding onto their well earned spots.

If you want to get great spots and be seen as a pioneer of the market get in early and earn your stripes.

We have the new Cumberland County Fair starting, a market put together after years of listening to stalls about the lack of a good number of Sunday Market opportunities. So if your looking for a new market or wanting to expand out to include other market opportunities lets see you there for the opening party on Sunday the 5th of June. If the public comes along and the market has a fantastic array of stallholders it will be a hit from the start. The Parramatta Stadium has a great promotion department so we know the public will be there…..will you be there in support of getting it off the ground?
